Platform 21 was the kick-off for my interest in repairing. Everyone's heard all the jazz about the 3 r's: reuse, reduce, recycle; but we're also aware that it's not an ideal solution.

As more and more reports appear exposing recycling as a much less worthy cause than many of us think - often causing as much or more damage than it's preventing Platform 21 have stepped in with their Repair Manifesto.

Can we fix it? Maybe...

I'm a product design student from Edinburgh College of Art and am currently conducting research into the topic of 'repair'. It's a broad topic but in the middle of a recession and with all the movements towards green living I'm hoping it's a pretty current issue and one which people will take some interest in.
